Oil and Gas Exploration and Development
Approximately 50% of natural gas wells drilled yield production rates that are uneconomical for connection to a regional pipeline.
Many wells are simply abandoned when their yield is insufficient. Furthermore, in oil exploration and development, natural gas is often
flared because of the prohibitive distance to an natural gas pipeline network or due to the quality of the gas. Given that the EPA continues
to tighten its environmental restrictions on flare gas, putting these assets to productive use makes tremendous sense.
Alcor Energy has developed a design process and business model that will allow these “stranded" wells to produce revenue.
A distributed energy system designed by Alcor Energy can be installed at “stranded gas” sites to generate power for connection to
the grid. Approximately 300-440 MCF per MW per day is required, in contrast to the several thousand MCF per day output required for
pipeline connection. Partnering with Alcor on stranded gas opportunities enhances your firm’s environmental stewardship and financial
performance.
